Matcha must be made from Sencha Green
to taste like ground kimono, silky smooth
that settles on your lips, her milky sheen
smells of kisses -puts you in the groove
adjectives retreat afraid of cliche
but ‘creamy’ falls asleep on Matcha’s chest
so apposite the poet lets it stay -
of all descriptions this suits Matcha best
Matcha’s unimpressed by noise and drama
disappears before you realise
she’s worked her milky magic, made you calmer
teased you with her inky almond eyes.
(from Distinguished Leaves, Poems for tea-lovers, by Elizabeth Darcy Jones)

Matcha and Cornish sea salt popcorn
This healthy and luscious snack is perfect to help you beat the 4pm slump. Light, crunchy popcorn combined with the goodness of matcha and a touch of pure, natural Cornish sea salt.
It’s Matcha Month at Lahloo. We’ve been possessed by matcha madness! Here’s some of our matcha cinnamon streusel cake… we’re having it with a dollop of vanilla chantilly cream. Ummm!
